Hello, my name is Rochelle (Chelli) Williams, and I have had 14 years experience in Early Education as a 3yr Preschool Teacher and Licensed Home daycare Provider in Newport, De.  I am licensed through The Dept of Services for Children, Youth, and their Families.  I've been married for 19 years to my husband Ed and have two daughters ages 17 and 27 years old.  I am a member of the Newark Church of the Nazarene.  I started working with children at my church, I taught Sunday School for 2 & 3 yrs old as well as 10 & 11 yr old.  I also have taught and helped with Children's VBS at church.  I have been teaching 3 year olds for the last eight years at a Christian Preschool in New Jersey.  I decided to open my own In home Daycare to nuture, teach and instill Christian morals to the children in my care.

 

My Preschool program provides a variety of different experiences that will help to prepare your child for Kindergarten.  Since I am a small child care of 6 children (under 6 yrs), your child will receive consistant individual attention throughout his / her daily activities.  My program will introduce your child to many new concepts and activities at his / her correct age appropriate level, meaning when he / she is developmently ready for a particular concept.  I believe that learning should be fun so that it will be something that the children look forward to each day.  Therefore I plan out my program with many different stimulating learning activities to achieve our goal.  Some examples are, simple cooking activities, music, matching and sorting games, arts & crafts, dramatic play etc.

Our Toddler / Preschool program is designed for children ages 2 years - 5 years old. Each month your child will be introduced to a new theme, some examples are listed below:

September - Theme "Apples"

October - Theme "Pumpkins" 

November - "Thanksgiving & Turkeys"

The concepts and activities that we will be working on throughout each month will be incorporated into these themes. We will introduce your child to numbers - (counting & recognition) as well as shapes, colors, alphabet, opposites, simple patterning, small and large motor development,  etc. 

 Each day we will have circle time where we will sing our welcome song that encourages name recognition, read a story, sing songs that will help your child to become aware of the changes in the weather, the calendar, days of the week and the seasons .  After circle time we will play a few games that will reinforce the concepts we are working on that month and then we will do a small art project 3 - 4 days out of the week.

Some of the Special Events that I will have for the children throughout the year includes the following:

Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and St Patrick's Day parties.  We also have a Easter Egg Hunt & Party as well as Individual Birthday Parties
